Process Engineer (Water Treatment Plants)-Madrid

An international company specialized in comprehensive water treatment and management
solutions, with projects across Europe and other markets, is looking to hire a Process
Engineer to join its Plant Design team. This is a permanent position, offering career
development opportunities and participation in reference projects at the European level.


Responsibilities:


• Design, develop, and optimize processes for water treatment plants (drinking water,
desalination, wastewater, and industrial processes).
• Prepare material and energy balances, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and
Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), and technical specifications.
• Select the most suitable technologies, equipment, and treatment systems for each project
(pumps, membranes, reactors, valves, instrumentation, etc.).
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering departments to ensure
multidisciplinary integration.
• Define operating parameters and design criteria based on international standards and
engineering best practices.
• Support the preparation of technical offers and related documentation for international
tenders.
• Perform process simulations using specialized software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD
Plant, Epanet).
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning
phases of facilities.
• Collaborate in technical audits and continuous improvement of design methodologies and
standards.
• Participate in European travel for technical meetings, site visits, or client support (with
flexibility in the percentage of time spent abroad).

 


Requirements:


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (specialization in processes or plant
design).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in process design for water treatment plants or other
related industrial sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of process design software (Aspen HYSYS, AutoCAD Plant, Epanet,
or equivalent).
• High level of English (C1 or equivalent), essential for international communication.
• Availability to travel within Europe with flexible dedication.
• Profiles at different levels of experience will be considered: Junior, Mid-level, and Senior.
