TECHNICAL TELECOM SUPPORT-NY   

Role Purpose

Location: New York City

A recent graduate with some intern experience and the requested skills may be enough for this position.

Technical Telecom Specialist in New York City for Telecom and trading floor support for a leading international bank. Must be able to work some weekends and late night hours when needed. Flexible self-starter dealing with high demand fast-paced environment. Bi-Lingual is a plus. Must be a flexible and outgoing to individual. Prior trading floor experience required with knowledge of BT Trading, Private Lines and NICE Recording System.

Responsibilities

  • Job requires the candidate to be a quick multitasker while performing daily business as usual functions
  • It also involves learning configuration Sangoma Vega Gateway, Avaya/ Cisco / Third-Party SIP Based IP based IP Telephony features and configuration
  • Serve customers across multiply entities within the organization
  • Will organize activities with global teams in Madrid, Mexico, Brazil
  • Job would require configuration, troubleshooting, minimal training for some users on phones, turrets, and telecom applications such as voicemail
  • The detailed job duties involve:

o Answering phone and emails for Telecom dept

o Make L1 changes after receiving the go ahead from the Local Tech Assist team. This includes user creation, profile updates, monitoring the usage, issue tracking, escalations to the L2/L3 support teams as needed.

o Excellent verbal and written communications and ability understand customer requirements, complete the documentation, and communicate back them to Key Stakeholder if required

o Collect the required BT Logs from TSS console and send details to the Core of Excellence (COE), BT Support Center

o Provide the required information to COE for the troubleshooting of the issue

  • Market Data involvement will be required; knowledge of Bloomberg, Refinitiv plus exchanges is helpful
  • Knowledge of Apple business Manager is a plus as candidate will need to keep inventory of mobile devices and report on them
  • Monthly and quarterly department reporting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, and O365
  • Physical requirements, pending and lifting of physical hardware (20 lbs.)
  • The preferred location is New York City, but travel to our D/R site in upstate New York may be required

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Telecommunications or Computer science; will consider new graduates with past relevant intern experience
  • Exceptional knowledge of data networking principles. Experience with routers/switches
  • Background in Telecom, networking
  • Candidates with relevant experience may apply
  • Ability to interact with Senior Management

Firsthand experience/knowledge on any one or more of the following areas is preferable, but not mandatory

  • Enterprise Telephony and Networking
  • IP Telephony, Integrated Voice Response solution
  • Avaya/ Cisco Telephony, Oracle SBC, Sangoma Vega Gateway, networking
  • Experience on IP Dealer boards/Turrets (BT, IP Trade), IP Recording/Logger (NICE, Verint) & Avaya/Cisco PBX & telephony product family is a plus
  • Cisco/Avaya certifications in voice, data and networking like CCNA, CCNP, CCVP is a plus
